Artist’s Statement

Art is an intangible and infinite field and the artist a conduit that transforms the formless into form. Some artists explore and portray their experience within a specific environment with concise materials while others- such as myself- explore a variety of media. One’s personality, modus vivendi and character are deciding factors as to how one will choose to give form to the journey of discoveries and revelations. Even though the means of expression change, The conduit remains constant, alert, focused on the reception and deciphering of symbols of the inner and outer world, the feminine and the self. Whether this concerns an instant flash of inspiration in black and white presented by the outside world, a predesigned and thought-out studio image or video or -as of late – an exploration into paint. The means, media and techniques may vary, but the fundamental inner need to give form to one’s truth gives rise to all.

Η Τέχνη είναι ένα πεδίο άυλο και άπειρο και ο/η καλλιτέχνης γίνεται η κεραία που μετατρέπει το απροσδιόριστο και εννοιολογικό σε ορατό και απτό. Άλλος εξερευνά και απεικονίζει όλη του την εμπειρία μέσα σε ένα συγκεκριμένο περιβάλλον, με συγκεκριμένα υλικά, και άλλος -όπως εγώ- πειραματίζεται με πληθώρα μέσων και τρόπων. Η προσωπικότητα, το modus vivendi και ο χαρακτήρας είναι καθοριστικοί παράγοντες για το πως κάποιος θα καταγράψει το ταξίδι των ανακαλύψεων και αποκαλύψεών του. Η κεραία όμως, παραμένει πάντα ίδια, σε διάταση, εστιασμένη στην αναζήτηση του εξωτερικού και εσωτερικού κόσμου, του νοήματος και της κατανόησης των Συμβόλων, του Θηλυκού και του Εαυτού. Είτε πρόκειται για μια στιγμιαία επιφοίτηση σε Μ/Α φωτογραφία δρόμου, μια έγχρωμη προσχεδιασμένη άποψη σε στούντιο, ένα σκηνοθετημένο νοηματικό βίντεο, είτε για ζωγραφικό ταξίδι αναζήτησης, όπως τα τελευταία χρόνια. Πολλά τα μέσα, ίδιος ο σκοπός και η ανάγκη επικοινωνίας της ατομικής αλήθειας.
